Farewell from my Dad

Many of you will know from reading my blog and particularly my wedding post that my father has been very ill.

On Tuesday 13 December 2011, he died, peacefully in his sleep.  He was an avid poet, posting many poems from his bed when he was poorly. On his laptop we found a document labelled Farewell which was his last poem, for all to read so I thought I would post on my blog as well as his.

Post Mortem

This poet is not pinin’!
‘E’s passed on!
This poet is no more!
He has ceased to be!
‘E’s expired and gone
to mock ‘is maker!
‘E’s a stiff! Bereft of life,
‘e rests in peace!
If you hadn’t nailed ‘im
to the page
‘e’d be pushing up the daisies!
‘Is metabolic processes are now ‘istory!
‘E’s fallen off the twig!
‘E’s kicked the bucket,
‘e’s shuffled off ‘is mortal coil,
run down the curtain !!
THIS IS AN EX-POET!!

Of course we are very sad to have lost my dad, but are so grateful his death was peaceful and without pain.
