Just back from a very busy but wonderful weekend. Not only did we celebrate the wedding of my best friend Sarah to her husband Phil, but Rich and I also celebrated our first wedding anniversary.
It was a particularly emotional weekend, Sarah is one of my oldest friends and I was so delighted to see her marry the lovely Phil. So much so, that I, someone who is almost never moved to tears, cried a lot!
Saturday was all about catching up with friends from uni and celebrating. Sarah (and Phil!) put amazing detail into their lovely day – there were beautiful readings, amazing speeches and such delicious food – they even remembered our anniversary and left a gift on our seat. The most beautiful touch for me was that the favours from the wedding were seeds with a verse from the poem that my dad wrote for us when we got married. It brought back all the happy memories of our own special day, but then intertwined it with a new and just as happy occasion and I really love the thought that as Rich and I celebrate our wedding, Sarah and Phil will be doing the same for years to come.
So, here’s to celebrating with friends and looking forward to a future with many many more happy memories!
